We have been having so much fun with these monarch caterpillars and watching them change into butterflies. The last three images are the first hatched butterfly. I added some other pics so you can see the whole transition.
Right before they "bust" out of their skin they attach themselves and go into this J shape.

That really is super cool! I wouldn't have a clue how to "grow" a butterfly :)
What great photos! I wish we had some milkweed plants around--Liberty tells me that is the place to find baby butterflies.
